Aixperiences: Mini-Foulées for Kids on Cours Mirabeau (Sat 16:30) — tiny legs, big cheers!

What’s happening (and when)

Official info & sign-up: club page and city/OT listings. (Aix Athlé Provence)

Where to stand (so you actually see your kid)

  • Rotonde end: Big atmosphere by the fountain; great first-meters photos.

  • Fontaine Moussue middle: More space, lovely backdrop = grandparents’ favorite.

  • Bas du Cours (near Rue Espariat): Easy in/out for snacks after.

Pro tip: Put a bright scarf/hat on your runner. You’ll thank me at the sprint finish.

Getting there & street impacts

  • Cours Mirabeau is the course — expect pedestrianization and barriers on Saturday afternoon around the race lanes. Walk in from Rotonde or Miollis.

  • Buses: The big diversions hit Sunday morning (center not served until ~13:30). Saturday is lighter, but allow extra time and check live “Perturbations” before you leave. (Aixenbus)

  • Coming from the Gare Routière? It’s a short walk; usual buses stop near Roi René when running normally. (Rome2Rio)

  • Bikes/trottinettes: Park off the Cours to avoid closures.

What to bring (and not)

  • Safety pins (or a bib belt), a marker (write a parent phone on the back of the bib), a layer for after, and water.

  • Strollers belong on the spectator side, not in the race lanes (your quads will forgive you).

Why it matters

This is a community run with a solidarity twist: every entry supports Le Point Rose, helping families through unimaginable loss. Your cheers = fuel; your bib = a little act of kindness. (Le Point rose)

  • A2: Allez, tu y es presque ! Respire, régulier !

  • B1: Garde le rythme, regarde la ligne, tu voles !

  • B2: Belle foulée ! Accélère dans la dernière ligne droite !

For young runners (and their coaches a.k.a. parents)

  • Warm-up game (2 min): “Feu rouge/Feu vert” on the sidewalk.

  • Routine: 30 sec jog → 3×20 m strides → shake out arms → smile check.

  • Post-race: Water + a small snack; swap bib stories at the Fontaine Moussue.

After-race treats (because Aix)

  • Chouquettes at a Cours boulangerie, a celebratory sirop à l’eau, or a cone of crêpes from a kiosk. (Carrot sticks optional; joy mandatory.)
